I think I'm getting myself confutious on spline counts between Vits and Sierra's. Looking on LROR it say's the minispool and Air locker RD88, 26 spline, which is standard in the rear of my Vitara is the same as the rear of the Sierra ('92 SJ70) To use Cromo's in the sierra's front it needs 26 spline spider gears or minispool / Air locker. What I want to do is put the minispool from the Vit into the rear of the Sierra, and put the spider gears I took out from the Vit's rear in teh front of the Sierra to use cromo's. Or simply, If you use cromo's, you'd have 26 spline front and rear. (obviously minispooling the front is a stupid idea) Someone tell me if this is right.

they all use 26 spline axles. but the vitara rear diff is a different size to the front so the spider gears wont fit in the front of a sierra.

so using a 26 spline air leaker (RD88) in the front is the other option?

RD 88 will fit in either front (with chromos) or rear of a sierra, or the front of a vitara.
so in answer to what i think your asking yes.

This crownwheel carrier must be larger. But not the internal spiders

Why dont u use the 26 spline side gears that u will be pulling out of your rear diff when u slap the mini spool in there? just put em in the front and enjoy the chromo awsomeness . If u wanna do the least work possible leave the rear 3rd intact and just put it in the front with the chromo's, put the mini spool in the front 3rd and put it in the rear. The only downside is a 92 sierra will only have a 2 pin front centre which isnt quite as strong as the older 4pin/rear.

So my plan is, I want to remove the spool from the Vit's rear and put it in the rear of the sierra and If these gears I have don't fit, airlock the front to use the cromo's. I don't like the idea of putting the spool in the front of the Sierra.

vitara rear diff is a completely different size and i doubt the mini spool is gonna fit in a sierra diff. the side gears may fit but honestly i doubt the accuracy of that too.
why not just weld the rear sierra diff keeping the 26 spline gears in it. and buy a RD88 for the front. problem solved

Mini spool is the same between Sierra and vitara. I know this because if have swapped mine over.
Trail tough advertise the same part for either. Beware of the TG mini spool - apparently they aren't heat treated. (at all or properly) and have been known to wear very fast, although I have heard the same of TT spools. Our TT spools have lasted very well.
Steve.
