Gday all. I may be able to get my hands on a 98 auto GV with 215ks on it. It is tidy as and cheap, however on cold start it blows greyish smoke for around 10sec but then goes away and doesnt come back til the next cold start. Im guessing valve stem seals.
Id probably be able to pick this up for around the $4-$4.5k mark with the view to spending a bit to fix it. For all the 2.5l GV owners out there, is the valve stem seals hard or expensive to fix? I was told by Suzuki it could hit the $2k mark!!!! Im a store manager at Repco and would never pay that as i have some very loyal mechanics but is it really that big a job??? Anyone done this themselves or had it done?? Experiences or pricing????
Thanks a heap guys!!!!
Rest of the car looks good!!

Its not the blue one on gumtree that has been of and on for over a year?
At that price and the extra you'll spend, there is others around with less km's.

Whats the timing chain rattle like? This is gonna be more of an issue on this model with those km's.

You could probably do it cheaply for a lot less than that but if you are going to keep it for the long term you'd be better of spending the money and doing it right, which means: valve guides, valve grind, seals, etc (basically full rebuild of heads)

The 2003 is nice esp in side I reacon the GV needs a real good engine flush.. possible 02 sensors. Chop have a good look at the photos, looks like the GV had a real good clean over for the photos but was not maintained well before hand. But washed up pretty good. Engine also looks like it had a major degrease and blasting. wheres the 2.5L twincam lable oil cap is also broken
