Hi all, Wheres the easiest spot to tap into the reverse lights? I have a rear flood light I want to have come on when using reverse (with isolation switch of course). Drivers side of car would be where I would like to tap in. Could I tap into the trailer plug? Cheers |

I installed a rear work/reverse light in my GV using the reverse switch as a signal. I tapped into the reverse wire in the centre console forward of the gearstick and ran a wire to a relay near the battery. I can't remember the colour of the wire though. |

Cheers Unless you have particularly requested it when installing the plug, the reverse plug wiring SHOULD NOT carry the revese light circuit. There very few trailers with reverse lights, although some types of Caravans, Horse Floats, etc will use the 7th pin Auxillary as a 12v power supply for interior lighting or on-board battery. |

If you havent figured it out yet Skip. dont wire another light into the reverse circuit. if you want to use it as a trigger to switch on the light via a relay, thats fine. You have no option but to run a suitable cable from your 12v source to the back of the car. |

If you had an LED work/flood light you can wire it up to the rev switch as they draw less than one of the two standard bulbs. I ran one off the standard wiring without issue. |

on the transmission..... read the service manual, its literally step 3 in the removal of the transmission, took me 20secs to find. can trace from there, or find wire color in same manual |

get a test light and turn the ignition on the wire with power only when the thing is in reverse is the right one |

That's supposed to be "Yellow" and "Red" wires. The red one works. Cheers |
