| Post subject: | Engine immobilizers anyone using one? |
Is anyone using an engine immobilizer? I have done a search and haven't found anything useful. I want to put one in my brothers sierra with a g16b, I found some cheap ones for around $90 and expensive ones for triple that. Any advice? |

My Vitara came with one, fitted by original owner. I can't find it, too well hidden, so can't tell you the make. But it has worked flawlessly since I owned it. It comes on with the remote central locking. NB: don't leave keys and dog in car, she locked herself in, and me out once. |

I run this on my go-slow car (Vitara) and my go-fast car (Legnum): Cyclops P375B $350 Installed Black wiring Twin Point Immobiliser - Starter Motor + Ignition (ECU, Fuel Pump, Ignitors) Bonnet, Doors, Tailgate Glass Breakage Sensor I like it because it uses 30A relays which means you can immobilise the higher power stuff like the starter motor, fuel pump etc. A lot of other alarms have 10A relays which means you are limited to what you can immobilise. If you go the full alarm route (like above) don't get motion sensors, they are horrendously unreliable and get triggered on windy days. |

Or just get one with it already done so less fiddling and hassle! Never had a false with any of my alarms... |

I know someone who's literally fitted 100's of these over the years & puts a lifetime warranty on the unit & the install.
