Ok I have found a set of Bundera Diffs but they come with 4.88 Gears Right? I have 6.5:1 in my transfer I want to run prob 35-36" Tyres I still have stock 3.7 Suzy diffs atm and with the 33'(32) they are in the perfect rev range etc. I dont want Suzy to be revving super high on the freeway! Would it be better to go a lux lower ratio? I know a Lux centre wont fit in a Bundy housing because of the steer arm on the rear. So i may go Lux front whole diff instead of bundy. So Many Questions i know. |

i'm running bundy/lux diffs, 4.88... and 6:5 - 1 reduction transfer gears, with 35"s (approx 34" really).. and the gearing is spot on!!!! |

Well i dont really think im up to working out all the coil specs etc! I'm worried that i will fook it up! I wont be using all the bundys arms etc(if went coil), as i have seen that they dont flex... I was only thinking of a bundy rear now, with a lux front. Depends on priceing of both i guess and how the steering works on the Bundys. |

There is a fair bit more fab work to do as well, even more so if, as you say, you don't use the stock control arms. Have you got a torque rod or something like that on your rear diff at the moment? |

I really need it now I'm thinking you will definitly need it if you go SPOA, and i'm not suprised you need something now too. The softer your springs are the more likely they will be to wrap up under torque. Do you really need to SPOA it? That will involve as much fab and engineering to do it properly. If you're thinking of SPOA then you might as well just go with coils, at least in the rear anyway. Then you can use a Hilux diff in the front as it's SPOA already, use the stock spring perches and outboard your leaf springs to suit. |

Not sure what revs mate.. got no tacho!!! But like i said, i reckon its geared pretty much spot on now. I originally was running lux front and rear, but had to go with bundy rear due to vibrations (they were HUGE!!) Lux front works fine.. heaps easier to set up!! I got everything that was needed from low range off road. High steer, spring perchs, shock mounts, etc. Let me know if you want any pics of any of it.. i took heaps of pics!!!!!!!! |

The reason for spoa is to get over some huge steps without hitting the front shackles. Otherwise id use the mq/k pootrol diffs out of my backyard
With Coils I dont know if i like the floaty boat feeling ay... I like to do abit of long distance driving in Suzy.. |

Theres plenty of benifits for going SOA.. Your transfer, steering, shackles all of that stuff comes up out of harms way!! What are you planning on doing with the shock absorber side of things?? |

haha, oh shit no!!! I wish!! Isnt an option here in Tassie.. its a thing of the past now  Although Jon's zook (tastoyuki) got one before the new law came in.. just figuiring out a way to steal it  (awaits reply..)
you can also get the bar from low range similar to my set up in the rear, so you can invert the shockys. Cheap as chips for what it is.. or you could just make one!! |

th hilux front is good for me because it sits out to the drivers side further and clears the auto box. come have a peak on the weekend. |

I dont think she will be finished in a long time. 'future dreams' They wont go in until airlocked, armoured and shaved with steering to bolt in and shocks to bolt and weld on.....Simple!

Fook me! If you have checked my buildup already... You will see that my diff is 30mm forward, my rear is 15mm rearward.. With the 33's...
But with 36's.. It will be stretched more
I need a Lwbzook. But a swb will do..The 36's was going to be for something different other then 35's. But i may reduce it to Proper 35's.. |

With the 33's... 2" over standard with 33's pretty much 'is' standard (jmo), as ya pretty much gotta move em to stop the scrubbing. If i was going 35's i'd be shooting for about 90"wb. Hell i'd like a 38" wb just with the 33's! and i'd be going just as far foward with the front diff as i would be going backward with the rear (or as close as i could anyway) for better weight distribution/cog. Gets a bit hard with steering & covering the fronts though. & with the diff swap thing, if i had to sort out steering, brake lines, bracketry, shock mounts etc etc to do it, i'd go that little bit extra while i was there & make the mounts take coils instead of leafs & do a simple (yet effective) a-frame & 3 link setup. just my opinion though... You could acheive awesome travel & keep low at the same time. But the biggest advantage is the approach/departure angles, low as possible car with long arse flexy leaves = massive chassis extensions & still shit approach all just my opinion though mate. i'm a big fan of the low/wide/long. (although i'd still keep it only 90"ish for fun, sinche they are a swb suzi after all )

Im Now thinking of keeping Suzy how she is.. Low, Light and wide, I can always go around things as there is mostly a side track on our tracks if necessary. The Fact is. I have a swb suzy. She will be just too short and would be a rolly polly machine. If i had a lwb then i would prob go bundys etc. I dont like the look of mega stretched wheelbase on a swb. |
