Has anyone got any tips for making or sourcing chassis crush tubes that doesn't involve a lathe or drill press and bar stock? Also any tricks for drilling the chassis square? As in the hole on one side being directly the opposite the hole on the other?

This is for future steering box and front bar mounts.

Bought half a metre of steel tube the other day from Pirtek for $8. Can't remember exact dimensions, but suited 10mm bolts, and had 1.5ish mm thick wall.

I didn't know you could get gear like that from Pirtek. I can't recall whether the sierra runs m10 or m12 on the steering box though. I'll take a look and shoot you a PM OS as I need some custom sleeves for my new shocks too.

I just bought some steel tube which was 17mm on the outside and then filed the seam out from the inside with a rats tail file. Takes M10 bolts perfectly.

You only need to drill out one side of the chassis at 17mm and the other side at what ever bolt you are using.

Drilling chassis square is mark where you want the hole, drill one side, push drill through to other side, check drill is square before you pull the trigger and drill. If you want to do it with everything in the way then I have no suggestions.

If you want different size bolts then thats when you need custom sizes made.

edit-got the tube from local metal supplier of the shelf item and you just cut to length 10 nb pipe
