Hi ya can anyone help me out or had the same problem . I just removed the rear muffler off my 3 door 2010 gv and replaced it with 2 hotdogs instead but ive lossed about 100 klm in fuel can this be fix without replacing the old muffler, which i dont wont to go because of the ground clearance. can i get diffrent o2 sensor or something. Thanks |

DO you still have the stock exhaust system on, and are the hot dogs a different pipe size/diameter ? Mismatching an exhaust system Will have adverse effects, it has to be a balanced complete system... |

steveo Can you edit it a bit to make it a little more direct, before people start flaming you? It is apparent that when ample information is provided and the post is easy to understand, people are likely to respond in a friendly helpful manner. Read this in the noob section, quite appropriate and didn't even need to search for it. http://auszookers.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=35548 100klm = what? 100km from the tank, or you lost 1L/100km Are you heavier with the right foot because you like the new noise? Have you noticed you are down on power, and perhaps more power elsewhere. You have changed the exhaust flow dynamics, which will affect the pressure waves and scavenging. This will affect the torque curve, and if fuel consumption is up, you have probably changed it for the worse. You may need to consider doing a full exhaust, and get your car tuned appropriately $$$ Work out a way to put the old one back on, with extra ground clearance Get a muffler with similar characteristics to stock (pressure loss) that will offer the clearance you seek, and work out a way to put it in. |

thanks guys for the info. Im going to take it back to where i had the mod and see what happens. I thought i might have to go with the old muffler. thanks for your time |
