Hey i have recently purchased a suzuki sierra and am currently tuning it up..

i have found that the steering has a far bit of free play when driving and when stationary.
Is this normal?
can i fix it?

cheers Jake

How much free play?

Hows the wheel bearings? Kingpin bearings? Tierod ends? Steering shaft uni? Steering shaft rag/rubber disc joint?

Last thing to play with:
Ontop of the sierra steering box, there is a nut and a screw. Loosen the nut and turn the screw in. Lets say 1/4 turn at a time. Go for a drive and see what happens each time. The box could be worn when going straight, so when you turn it will tighten/bind up. Not good.

Worn spring/shackle bushes can also make play
