hi i was wondering what everyones thoughts are on webber carbys for sierras?
i heard the enhance performance but also heard the are no good for hills?
i pretty much only take my sierra off road so is it a good idea or not?

mate i havent done a huge amount of off road with my car since the weber went on, i drove it on the road for maybe a month before the rego ran out & i pulled it apart. what the carby did do was made the car accelerate quicker, ther wasnt any more power or anything, it just made the car much more responsive.

before i do get it back out into the bush i am taking it to a carby place to get overhauled & am going to ask them about modding it so overcome the flodding problem on bigger angles.

I assume you are talking about the common 32/36 downdraught webber. If its only for offroad use then the disadvantages outweigh the advantages.

i had issues with my webber carby ok was on my vitara but up steep hills it wasent getting fuel into the carby due to the float being closed over alowing no fuel into it and it used to stall i and it wouldnt want to restart. but i was told if you had them turned around they work oposite so when your going down hill they dont get fuel into carby working as a engine brake sort of speeck

Thanks i think i will just leave it for now. I currenly have problems every now and then with my car idling it just stalls when you put the clutch in but i think i might have water in my fuel tank.
