Thrown them away.

Alloy isn't really a suitable material for making a winch bar out of. It's hard to ensure enough strength around the mounting holes. Alloy winch bars generally have a steel cradle that mounts to the chassis and the alloy bar fits over it, which seems a bit silly to me.

Personally, I don't think alloy is a suitable material to make a functional bull bar out of at all (winch or not) , but not everyone is concerned about function.

It doesn't really matter what the bar is made from in that case.

Have a look at jrzooks build. He has a alloy bullbar however the winch cradle is mounted around the front crossmember not in the bar like most steel bars!

It's always around the mounts that's the problem - they want to crack/fracture too easily.

I'd love to see an alloy bar built "properly" - for sure it could be strong enough for a winch bar (and take big hits), but I doubt anyone could afford it.

Your exactly right! although the wing and post got bent (6mm) even the 8mm mounts just fractured and tore.
I was amazed
