Post subject:  31" Mudzillas
hey guys just looking at these maxxis mudzillas 31/11.5/15 and really like them. i have a 97 coily with a 2 inch lift and about to put 30mm coil spacers in. also looking at f100 rims 15x8. do you guys think these tyres would fit with a bit of buggering about?

why would you want that size?

if your after a 31" tyre i would go for a 31x10.5 on a 15x7" rim

The biggest thing to remember about mudzillas is that they are bias ply, so they are not really suited to road use. If you do decide to use them on the road they will wear quite fast.

From what i heard maxxis doesnt make the mudzillas anymore
I tryed to get a set a while back nd no tyre shop could get them in
Im glad i didnt as the side wall is way too stiff for a zook
Ive seen them on gq patrols nd pajeros nd they need to lower their pressures down to 6-8 psi to get any benifit on the beach or rocks to get the tyre to bagg a bit due to the thick side wall
I would try a different tyre that is similar in design such as the mickey thompson baja claws

30's with 2" lift will fit under there with no issue. 31's and you might have to do some "clearance" work with a big hammer.

I had 31 treps on my coily with bumpstop spacer and guard chop
Was stable as because it was so low

I have 31x10.5R15 Trepadors on one of my coilies on -13 15x7" rims.

With standard bump stops, 40mm spring lift, 50mm Body lift, bumper outriggers cut off, and lots of hammered in seams inside the wheel arches the tyres will still rub when flexed up!

when was that? my brother runs them on his shorty GQ, just bought a new set back in june... but x2 for being waaaaay too stiff, they barely bag at 8psi on a patrol. would need to run >5psi to make them bag on a sierra.

Give maxxis bighorn a try, I run them on my jimny in 31" and I can't fault them. Daily driven around 300kms a day for past few months, offroad every weekend and they grip just as well as any muddy. Cheap, bag well, cut and chip resistant, wear well, they do provide the mud tyre hum on the blacktop as any muddy does. I love them!

Would have been mid last year that i tried to get them
Could only find second hand rims with the tyres on them

They stopped selling them due to legal issues being similar to the Mickey Claws and they were dirt cheap getting rid of the last stock here on the central coast.

I picked up 5 sets of 35's brand new for $200 a piece. But now they are back and i bet 31's cost more than that now.

They do wear out quick but they work awesome!

My ones never did. I used to run 5 psi with no bead locks. They are undersized as well. The 31s I had were only 30s at best.

This was the same thing i was told due to legal issues

must have got lucky, they barely bag at that on a SWB patrol, and thats got about 6-700kgs over a sierra
