Post subject:  introduction and engine upgrade alternatives for sierra

Hi all
I'm Darren and I got myself SJ50 Tin Top Leafy 89 model a few years back, runs like a clock despite the piston slap when cold thanks to the auto choke not working for yonks, have reset springs and fitted longer shackles, 80 amp bosh alternator with strengthed mount and made an evaporative airconditioner from an eski, fan and pump run through roof mounted ducting.
can add pictures when i find me camra and get the lad or misus to help me post them, did i tell yu i hate computers.
Have just got hold of a wrecked 03 ignus hoping to use the engine and steering, since found out its not compatible, has around 150 k on clock and purs like a kitten, complete with engine management and harness, looking to swap for something that will fit the SJ50 preferably injected with a couple of cams maybe.
has anyone considered using electric steering column, is it worth the effort.
did i mention the salmon (not pink) stripes
nothing great to look at but its really straight, no rust and lots of fun
thanks

Darren

vitara g16b is generally the prefered swap.
also baleno has the g16b in it as well but has a few differences have a look through the build threads in the rigs section and you will soon get the idea
not too sure about electric steering column though.
