Post subject:  Transfer gears

I know that these questions have probably been asked a thousand times before but here it goes I have a 1.3 sierra with 2" lift and 215 75 15 tyres but I never let my mates in the locked patrols or hiluxs show my little rig up so I drive 90% of what they drive the only thing is that in the really hard spots I'm always riding the shit out of my clutch so I am just curious if 4.16:1 transfer gears would be to low for my tyre size if so is there any other options for around the same price to help.

Which would be even lower than transfer gears on road.

Your car would be fine with 4.1 transfer gears.

You'll be revving about 4% higher than standard on road with 215's and 4.1 transfer gears.

That's 140rpm @ 100km/h. I think you should be able to live with that.

Steve.
