Hey Guys and Girls, Got a 1990 Suzuki Sierra with a fucked motor(not dead just not working properly) and i am look at replacing it with a Swift GTI motor. Now i know this has been done before and i am just wondering what is needed to do this conversion.. any help is great and very much appreciated.. |

Ok got another question... been talking with some auto sparkies about wiring up my engine and one guys seems to think that I need to change my fuel lines to cope with the higher preasure of a fuel injections fuel pump.. can anyone clarify that or is he trying to get more money our of me.. |

No, he is correct. The rubber lines will need to be swapped to EFI compatible lines designed to withstand the fuel pressure EFI systems run at. Carby sierras only run vacuum from the tank to the fuel pump, then not over about 4psi from the pump to the carb. EFI systems run at least 45 psi of fuel pressure. Steve. |

So thats just the rubber fuel hoses not the metal lines.. as I have already changed the rubber fuel pipes.. |

Don't forget to use proper EFI hose clamps too...not just the usual carby ones...they will pop off eventually and possibly cause an (awesome) fire. |

what are you doing for the dizzy? if you use a mk1 you can get a angle drive for it or if its a mk2-3 you will have to swap the dizzy cap and rotor button for the mazda 626 turbo one |

i believe all that has been taken care of as the motor i have bought was actually already in a converted sierra from a Woolongong auto recyclers, so it helped out there cost wise but i am now at the point of trying to do the wiring loom as the didn't mark the loom out to where it goes on the motor so its a slow process.. also what accelerator cable to use in place of the short, standard one. Once i get it together and started I'll see what i need to change and check.. |

Ok guys I got a few issues with my conversion. So as I have states before the motor I bought came out a a sierra so I thought it would be pretty straight forward to complete bit after a whole day of trying different ways to mount the gear box and motor in the car, the gear box sits about 10 - 15mm high of the rear mount and not straight, as well as the dizzy still squashed on on the fire wall even after bashing the fire wall in about 10 - 15 mm. So done a bit more research and gonna go buy some more parts listed in masterA's right up and give it a go. Is there anything else that could be going on that could cause these issues and could there be more coming my way |
