Can anyone tell me the middle shaft length on the drivers side CV out of the SV620 Vitaras

am i correct in believing they are 26 spline inner diff spline?

Cheers.

can't tell you exact length without stripping it down, but this is what i got with the CV's fully compressed. 26 spline inner stub

from the seal lip on the inner CV

to the end of the sealing surface measured 410mm

hope this helps, i can strip it down if required as i need to slap some new boots on it but i'm due to go to work soon.

i do have a heap of CV middle shafts from various SE & SV vits, but without spending a bit of time sorting them out & working out what is what they all look very similar

What im really after is will a SV drivers side cv fit in the GV now that ive done the diff center swap. I need to rebuild the front end and replace both cv shafts after i had a big oops the other week.
(broke both outer cvs in one go. Got massive air under it and then had to turn hard to avoid the car that drove across in front of my landing. :rambo: ..didnt end well for my CV's. )

Ive figured out the GV shafts are shorter by 5mm on the end that locks into the diff center. So if a SV620 drivers CV will bolt right in ill get one of those if not ill have to look at doing a custom shaft.

Yep - just bought a SV drivers side CV myself.

Hot tip - don't get the one advertised on ebay at the moment by CV shafts australia. Despite advertising it as a H20A/J20A one they sent me a GV one instead (ie. inner stub was 6mm too short when using a Vit centre).

Ended up getting one of Greg (4wd_products). Sitting in a box in the garage atm, I really should go open it and make sure its the correct one....

I'll open the box a bit later today and make sure it is the right one he has sent me (I'm sure it will be though).

Hey Arari. would you have a broken short side inner CV i could use for the cut and shut mod?

Don't think the cut & shut mod (ie. to run a passenger side CV) will work for the GVs, not from the quick measuring I did anyway. Passenger side CV is already considerably longer than a drivers side when both compressed (measuring up to the lip on the drivers side one obviously and not the end of the inner stub). Think it was like ~20mm longer already, so considering you then need to add the stub axle flange into the width also she is going to be far too long.

Or maybe I am a numpty and am just looking at it wrong :P

that's why i run the LHS inner flange CV part on a RHS CV rather than a complete LHS CV

yes i thought the same but if the mod is done you could then use Vitara bolt in CV's.......on the drivers side.

Might have to start searching the wreckers.
