Post subject:  WT to NT perch HELP Brisbane

Hi all.

I've got a set of WT diff and I want to change the spacing to NT. Now i've contacted Fatzook about it but haven't heard anything back. Know he is busy and all so not an issue.
Just wanting to know if there is someone/somewhere else that could do this for me. Anywhere in Brisbane is fine.

Cheers Nick

measure the perches width and length and then go and buy some rhs with the same width and twice as long as them. start by cutting the rhs in half so you have two pieces. then with a hole saw that is the same size as the axle tube drill a hole right through the side of the rhs in the centre. then with a grinder or bandsaw or oxy or plasma cut through the middle of the hole. do the same with the other piece now you have 4 new perches Armsup

if it doesnt make sense.... I cant help you haha

Yeah mate I follow. I've got mor then enough RHS at mine to do it. Just changing them over is the part i'm not particularly keen on doing myself. If it comes down to it I'll bit the bullet and do it myself just seeing what options I had.

Won't work as the perches need more taken out of one side as they need to sit on the diff pumpkin, much easier just to buy the right ones I reckon, might have to wait 5 months for them though

yeah so with a grinder or oxy just notch out the inside of one of the perches.

just measure the centre pin locations that are on your car now and then measure the diff from wms to wms.
then get out your calculater do your WMS measurement minus centre pin distance then divide the answer by two. this will be the distance from wms to the centre of each mount. do this for front and rear. ideally mock them up and make sure the measurements work out in real life haha
then hot glue them on

Haha yeah waiting 5 months is a bit out of the question. The big push starts next weekend lol. WMS?? What do you mean by that?? I follow the rest pretty much what I was thinking just haven't heard WMS before.

Just cut the NT perches off CAREFULLY and reuse them on the WT diffs... I've done it a few times without dramas and when done looks more original than non Suzuki perches.

X2

If you aren't bothered about selling the NT housings then cut into the housing to remove the perch so you don't butcher the perch getting it off.

The NT axles are 1.0 so I believe they are a narrower housing. Could be wrong though. And I'm selling them anyway.

Thanks though Steve

Spring perches from a 1 litre diff will still be usable for a WT conversion.

Post subject:  Re: WT to NT perch HELP Brisbane

Isn't the 1l spacing narrower? Can u flex it up first as is then flex up after the conversion please

Post subject:  Re: WT to NT perch HELP Brisbane

No 1l is the same spacing as 1.3 NT.

1.3-1.0 is the same spacing I know this for sure. But the 1.0 housing is definatley narrower in Circumference then the 1.3. The mounts maybe usable but would have to be modified severely I'd imagine.

And anyway MRW82 the diffs are for you stop encouraging me to chop them up lol
