My old alternator shit its self so i got a second hand one of bluesuz and and is working but its only putting out 12.8 volts. the battery is only 3 weeks old. and 12.8 volts doesnt get you very far at all. Where abouts does it earth out and is there any weak spots in the wiring? |

Get yourself a 10v battery and the alt will be fine. |

To check the earth, check voltage at battery + post (or alternator B+) with multimeter - on alternator body. If you get 14v, start cleaning earth connections (battery/chassis/motor). A bad earth can easily drop a volt or 2 when measured accros the battery posts. |
