Why does it matter? I imagine it's unlikely to be Borg Warner, as I think the Japanese Warner business is Aisin Warner, who make the freewheeling hubs, auto gearbox etc. My guess would it would be Aisin Warner. Steve |

Suzuki diffs have the Hitachi symbol cast into them. |

Had a feeling it was a Hitachi as I looked at a friends datsun 1200 ute and looked similar and he was after an LSD so figured he could probably use a Suzi one but the 1200 ute is H165 meaning 165mm most likely or 10mm out if the suzi one is 175mm. Now on my side of things I finished a modded g16b conversion into a 99 model carry and the diff has started to go apeshit from the torque and wheel spin no thanks to my spirited driving style since I fit a bigger exhaust. Its a piddly 8 bolt diff of some kind so thinking its the same as the early Sierras and 4.33 something ratio. Id like to fit a 4.1 or 3.9 as the engine pulls even from 4th gear in almost any revvs and could do with 5th gear having more legs rather than revs. I will have to make sure I change my lead foot as the bigger diameter stickier 185/65/14s also wont help destroy the diff sooner. |
