Hi folks, For those of you with G16A or B motors (and maybe others) check your exhaust manifold for a crack between 3 and 4 cylinders where the two exhaust outlets join together. You'll need to pull the heat shield off to see it. I have a spare which is cracked and also checked the one on my car yesterday and it is also cracked. As it is caste iron, I won't be welding it. It's a good excuse to fit extractors. |

You can weld it for a quick fix, but it will probably crack again. Or Use proper rods for cast iron for a more permanent fix Some people don't like extractors because of the extra noise. |

Does this cracking have a long term effect on the motor, or is it just one of those annoying things under the bonnet that you know is not right. Kev. |
