I'm having a fair bit of trouble finding a coily tank for my EFI conversion.

I would rather not use a surge tank with 2 pumps if i can avoid it, trying to keep costs as low as possible.

I already have a LWB vit tank with the EFI pump in there and would love to fit it into my sierra. Putting it in the stock location wont be possible as there's not quite enough clearance between the rear crossmember and the rear diff. Also the exhaust would have to be changed.

Was considering setting it halfway into my ute tub, what would the legalities of this be like? Anyone have any helpful advice? Coily tanks seem to be a bit of a mythical creature.

I have read that the SWB vit tank will fit into a sierra. How much difference is there between the SWB and LWB tanks? Is this an easy fit or lots of stuffing around?

cheers

LWB tank is a lot wider (front to back when fitted)
SWB looks pretty similar to a sierra tank, the mounts are a bit different though

how about some kind of hatchback EFI tank?

if youre happy to change mounts.... a ae92 corolla tank sits nice and high and flat. the filler is in the right location'ish for filling too!

i havent driven with mine in there but it seems to fit nice and high in there.

twincam.org has a parts for sale section..... just incase you were keen.

just read that fuel tank alterations need to be mod plated. not illegal, i guess it'd have to meet some guideline to get passed. only way to find out would be to ring an auto engineering place or QT if u can handle waiting in lines excessivly
