Nup. What size tyres you running? Carby SWB yeah? Even for a SWB with a tiny tank that's not as good as it should be. |

Yeah swb carby. 13" tyres? Or that could be the rims I had almost forgotten about the manifold. I have put something I. It to seal the cracks but it has not worked when I lasted looked. Have to get a new one. Would the manifold have a big effect? Also noticed my new exhaust has a hole in it :/ do you think that would also effect it? And yep. 250kms and I'm out of fuel. Normanly I don't do long trips to I will run out before 250kms. |

i would park it in the shed and take that manifold off rightnow or you will F#$K your head! get a coby or similar extractors. if you dont know what your doing i would reccomend getting it looked at as if you have been running a cracked manifold you have have already warped your head. you shouldnt have tried to seal the manifold they are a head of shit, just need to be replaced with some decent extractors |

Haven't ever heard of many 8 valve heads cracking. Also have seen quite a few 1.3s and 1.6s running around with crack exhaust manifolds for ages with no damaged to the head due to that.. When was the last time your carby was serviced? Sounds like a partially closed choke. |

I know the choke has been changed/adjusted a bit from when i had the rac out since then. |

sicktara wrote: i have a 89 swb vit, running 30inch tires, i got 300ks out of 40l so roughly 12l per 100ks mine worked out to (30litres x 100)/250kms=exactly 12 litres per 100ks. only ever reached 250ks if i am doing long trips. If i am driving shorter distances then its much lower. between 150-200 i think... |

Could be around 35 litres... sicktara wrote: does the guage say empty, when mines on the bottom of the red part i have 80ks befor i need to fill up, take a jerry snd run it till she dies the guages shit Last time my car got really low, i filled it up with a jerry can but it sucked up what ever is in the bottom of the tank and wouldnt start. the RAC came out and cleaned the carburetor before it would start again. |

maybe take you tank out and wash it or whatever you do to them, im sure all the older model vitaras have a 40l tank, i was only getting 240ks when it hit red. then one day coming home i thought id run her dry, it died at exactly 300ks, but it died as soon as it hit and incline, the fuel gauges arent that good, mine goes all the way down and points at the E, any way, good luck with the problem! |

what are the numbers on your tyres, you havent actually told us the real size yet 250km to 30l of fuel is in the range of normal, note youll hold another 10l of fuel yet and could be going 10% further than your odometer says depending on a few factors running a tank empty doesnt stir up shit on the bottom, fuel is always drawn from the bottom and like anything would ever get a chance to settle in any suzuki |

I've let mine run dry multiple times. does take about 10-15 seconds of cranking to get fuel through the lines sometimes, but never had it not start... |

Mine is same g16a carb 90 vit (currently) stock wheels/tyres 40ltr tank. '91 fuel i get 380kms '95 fuel I get 420ish '98 fuel I get 480ish 'ish' is define at the point where I go...OH FUK I'm gunna stop soon. some times I will run a mix say half 91 half 98 etc. This is all shitty driving too... my work is 10mins away stop starty lights n shit and generally other than that it will get one 40-80km trip a fortnight as well. |

They are 205/70 R15. royce wrote: running a tank empty doesnt stir up shit on the bottom, fuel is always drawn from the bottom and like anything would ever get a chance to settle in any suzuki It is what I was told when the RAC came out to help me start it again. The carburator had black muck in it so he just sprayed carburator cleaner into it and it started. He was the one saying it had sucked up gunk from the bottom of the tank. :/ |
