First off, BIG thanks to Ben for putting together this kit. It goes together well, and it's well worth the outlay in both time and money. Ben is a great bloke to deal with, and any queries are answered in quick time. Hard to ask for better than that!
I know my rear brakes were well past their use-by date(mud plugging), so I've done both ends, new slotted rotors on the front with Bendix 4WD pads, & Ben's gear went on the rear the following day. Big improvement with the fronts alone, but once the rears went on, the improvement was remarkable. I didn't realize just how poor the rears were. The handbrake is a revelation as well, it WORKS!!!. Nice to have brakes that fill you with confidence!
It's all too easy to compensate for brakes that are substandard, with longer braking distances, etc, but when it all goes pear shaped and you need to stop in a hurry, only a good set of brakes are going to keep you and your family out of trouble, not to mention other road users. Do yourself a favour, have a look at your braking system(or get the professionals to do it for you), its money well spent, and if you want a big improvement, give BenT a yell.
The only issue I had with the conversion, and it's not down to Ben's kit, was the inside of the DBA510 rotors I used on the rear didn't clear the outer circumference of the axle flange, so I had to turn the flange down by 1.5mm to clear the throat of the disc. Other than this, it was a straight forward job.
