Cant seem to find any pictures of installed seats. The brackets and what people have done themselves. I kinda understand what i gotta do but pictures always help.

Cut your rails down and leave 25mm left, use 25mmx25mm angle, bolt angle to rails, bolt seats to angle.
Use some high tensile bolts and bolt you seat belt buckle to the angle as this will be gone when you shorten the rails. I found is easier to bolt the angle to the seats first then put the seat in the car and locate the angle onto the rails so you can see where your bolts have to go, and check how far the seat will sit forwards and backwards. The lower you mount the angle to the rails the better as it gives you better access to the handbrake and seat belts as these seats sit fairly wide and high.

Sounds simple enough.
Do you have to cut the original rails. Prefer not to if i can.

yes, the outer rails closest to the doors are ok but the inner rails have a raised section to support the seat belt buckle. i didnt want to cut mine also so i just trimmed off the raised bit on the inner rail, doing it this way the seats will sit a little high.

I just took a few photos and will upload them soon

I just noticed i made the brackets a little different so i didnt have to chop the rails too much.

Here you can see where the seat belt buckle was bolted on.
Image
Angle is bolted straight to the seat, then the doubled up peices of angle join the seat rails to the angle under the seats.
Image
The extra bracket of angle was used to get the height, as the seat rails are different heights to eachother.
Image
On the inner rails is very easy as you dont have to use two brackets, this side is the heigher side of the rails and just bolting angle to the rail and seat will do.
Image
You can use this idea or trimm the rails level with eachother and add one lengh of angle to each rail, or if your worried about needing the rails for standard seats this way is reversable.

Here you can see how much i cut off the inner rail to level them out.

Trimmed down seat rail, do this on both sides, you will see on the standard rails this part is missing and holds the selt belt.

You could change it anyway to suit you, this way makes the seats sit alot higher. Ive seen another design where the rails were trimmed down to leave 25mm and the angle bolts to the rail and seat, but the seats sit lower than standard. I dont mind the higher driving postition.

Wow that looks like a hell of alot of brackets and mucking around. Is there any other way that involves less brackets and keep it lower?

Yeah I got a mate with a coily wanting to do this next week and he wants some help so I thought I'd try to get a heads up is this the only way to do it?

He needs to make a choice, either trim down the raised bit on the inner seat rails, that supports the seat belt buckle. Or trim down both rails and leave 20mm left. Enough for the angle to bolt to. First way is reversable back to stock seats, Second isnt. First way is a higher driving position. Second requires more grinding

So which part are we cutting down on the Sierra seat rails? Also is this just the inner rails?
