Hi all I posted last night for advice on a came for my 16b in my vit but no replys so thought id get some feedback on an idea I've been tossing up as something different , when I had my swb I was super keen on putting early r1 carbs on it, now I'm thinking of doin the same but on a 16b with the throttle setup off a late model gixxer 1000, any thoughts on my latest idea, I'm keen on this one and I think is very easily achievable and will look.awesome. |

few guys have done quad carbs in sierra's on here, should be a bit of info around. not sure if anyone has done EFI throttle bodies have a look at the megasquirt thread in good tech for DIY ECU. |

was thinking of running a fuel only haltech ecu, I have one in a box with loom map sensor, the lot, just need to Fab up a manifold, will check out my mates gsxr and see what angle they sit on in the bike and get it close to that as it is probably how they are meant to run from factory so.would like to get them sitting as close as Suzuki intended to in the first place. |

have seen all the vids keensy and I'm just like you, not that its gonna be a total Mega powerhouse but mostly all race engines in name form will have single throttles for each cylinder, besides will sound tough and look pro aswell, just gotta do it right that's all, one would think that it should make good power, does anyone know of anywhere to get a bolt in cam off the shelf for 16b's? |

The g16b air intake is ment to be super restrive Having it go half way around the world and over the hot extractors probl dont help much as well |

Yep that was my thoughts also, have been on tighes website and sussed out what cam I want just gonna wait till my swing finishes on Wednesday when I have a few days up my sleeve to make some phone calls to see what they think and availability etc, I'm thinking about running busa setup now as they throttles are larger, but will measure standard port size and see what will match up the best, does anyone have a fuked out 16b head lying around that I could use to dummy everything up on? |

Thought about using 4age quads? Can get manifolds for $250~ on eBay if you keep an eye out. Pretty sure you can get em in 45/48mm , gixxer 1000 is 42mm and busa are 46mm. |

Dave Walker did some work in the land of the infrequent bath and he showed that on a fairly healthy 2L a quad throttle body setup from a 600cc bike was about right. His work was mostly about tuning - but he struggled with getting the mapping right in the 0-20% throttle opening part of the map with throttle bodies from anything bigger. Big bikes have throttles that go from closed to wide open pretty quickly and you dont have good light throttle control. Adapting 4age throttle bodies may be the best idea, as at least they were designed with quite civilised driving habits anyway. My memory is struggling but I think these had a vacuum feed balanced across all 4 inlets so you could still run a booster without going to a vacuum pump from a diesel. Also I think(?) this let you run a map sensor - which was the key to good driveability out of any multiple inlet engine ive seen in a car, but I've seen this idea done as a custom setup with bike throttle bodies. TPS as your only reference is pretty coarse. If you do decide to run bike throttle bodies pay close attention to gettin them from a bike with pretty similar port spacing as this will make your inlet manifold much easier to make and you reeeeeaaaallly dont want to try and split the throttle bodies and space them out further than they were originally. |

you might also run out of room around the brake booser/master depending on what you do with the manifold... can i suggest long runners with a 45* & set them up poking through the bonnet.  these are the 2 quad carb sierra 1.3 threads i was thinking of viewtopic.php?f=14&t=29378&hilit=quad+throttle viewtopic.php?f=14&t=4369&hilit=quad+throttle |

Quads will look super neat and I'll be able to fuk off just about everything on the intake side of things, engine bay will look sweet! Not to mention the induction noise! Oh another thing there is no way around being able to torque down the head bolts on the inlet side of a 16b without removing the cam is there? |

I do recall seeing a tool listed in the FSM for this task(maybe)... But I just remove the cam to do it. My mates cortina could break engine mounts with a rev with his quads. Also the compression was so high it couldn't be roll started it would just skid. Very quick car

iv looked into this a lot and most the guys in the states ran the 42mm bore type i think its the ones off the 600cc, and that was on a g16bernals with stock int. they line up ok and most seem to be the non fuel injected type.(according to u tube and google) i want to do this one day as well maybe my next motor
