For months I had assumed the compressor was stuffed because of the noise coming out of the front ends whenever I swiched the a/c on. Still gets cool but made horendous noises when the fan and compressor cut in. I finally investigated a little closer whilsty doing a major service on the old girl over the weekend. It turns out the noise is all coming from the Thermo fan in front of the condenser. Looks like a basic replacement, source a new fan (scouring the wreckers as we speak) and fire it back up... Has anyone else had to do this one? Is there anything I need to watch out for?

Given the mud and water she has seen in recent years I have no doubt I will be up for a new compressor at some stage also. But hopefully it holds out for a bit yet. 8)
