No other way to title the subject but was just wondering if my old girl is the same as everbody elses.
First off, got my air conditioning regassed today with a mixture of lpg and something else, because my car still had r12 in it and I could'nt quite afford to have the system flushed and converted. This mixture is supposed to be pretty good at cooling in car temp, but in my car, I don't think it's as cold as it could be.
Now my questions are:
1. is it just my car or do Sierra air cons only work when you have it switched onto recirculate??
2. Regardless if wether you have the controls set on hot or cold, I only get cold air out of the front vents. If it is set on the feet or windscreen I get nothing but really hot air.I find this very strange and I would've thought if the heater was set to cold and the heater tap was closed, I should only get cool air coming in wether it be to the face windscreen or feet. Is this normal?
I'm thinking at the moment that perhaps the heater tap has shit itself and is possibly open all the time, but on the other hand why do I get cool air coming from the front vents?
I find it a little hard to believe this is how it's supposed to be, because the heater tap does'nt seem to do sweet f#$* all on my car and seems a bit pointless. If anybody can shed some light on this matter, it would be much appreciated.
Cheers
Elio

yes aircon only works on recirc, the evap is on the recirc intake below the glovebox
face vents can only blow hot air, the way the heater is made hot air through the heater cant be fed back to the face vents
the other vents can do how or cold, I'd say your tap is jammed or the cable has come off

Yep, but my face vents are the only ones that blow cool air. The rest of them blow hot air. I just removed the heater tap and put a hose on it to test the flow. As I suspected water flows throught it wether it is open or close. It does restrict it a little bit when I close it, but not much, so it looks like it may be time to replace the heater tap. The only problem now is where do I get one. I can't go to my local suzuki dealer any more after the last little 'incident' that occured there

I just wear a jumper in winter and a singlet in summer. Also, taking the soft top off in summer helps

Sorry to jack your thread Rockhopper, but if anyone has a good, spare cable for the heater tap (the one that goes back to the control on the dash) please PM me coz mine is broken.
