Has anyone ever heard about this. As stock sierra transfer mounts are weak and might break ive heard some where that land rover engine mounts (round in shape) will work as sierra transfer case mounts. Anyone know any info of which model land rover etc?

Any feedback much appreciated

cheers!

There was a thread a while ago with someone that tried them, supposedly broke on the first trip.

I've modified a VL engine mount for my single side mount after breaking 4 or 5 standard ones. All good after 6 months of hard driving.

These are probably the MOST common old 4wd part going around. The Series 1 engine mount was initially copied from the Ford Sidevalve Truck engine mounts from the 30's and 40's. The same part was also used for GPW/MB/CJ2/CJ3/CJ5 Jeep transfer mounts and FJ40 Toyota gearbox mounts. All are interchangeable and available from a huge variety of sources, even in urethane and fancy colours. I have a bucket of them here 'cos they never wear out, just go rock hard.

But I wouldn't recommend them. I'd either suggest Genuine Suzuki, or there was an Isuzu application someone on here thought was OK

Interested to know why this is.

Because they are a rubber donut with a solid bolt through them. The rubber is way too big an Outer Diameter to be useful in this application, something like 4"dia. I'll fish some out in daylight and post some pics.

No need. Given that its 3-4 times the size of the OEM mount, it would be hard to fit it in, AND would be very rigid.

I just got a some. Not sure if its going to clear handbrake drum though. Other 2 should be ok.
I've seen seat belts wrapped around these and actually tried it on a sierra aftermarket mount (not genuine) and it held for ages! haha

New oem transfer mounts are really stretchy.

They stretch so much, my floor is getting dented from the roctoy ring, and the mounts aren't breaking.

If they mounts don't break, the brackets will.
You have to have a weak point somewhere.
