Hi all, I was on the way home from Sydney yesterday on the hwy and hit a rock bounced up by a car in front of me, now I have a 2" crack in my sump (the alloy sump above the metal one). Would anyone know if it would be possible to weld this crack or should I just "try" and source another sump. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Jamie |

For all the pain it's worth trying to weld probably easier to just source another one |

Thanks for that, I am sort of thinking the same way, I am hoping that a thought in the back of my mind that a SV625 will be the same fit as my SV620. Might make the search a little easier  .Honest advice to all with the same Vit... fit the bloody front protection!!! I knew about the weak alloy front diff but this little (HUGE ASS) dilemma has cough me by surprise  Cheers Jamie |

If you can't find one locally mate I've got one off my old H25A you can have for $50 plus postage. Hopefully you can get one locally though. |

Thanks ninjamoses but i have just found out that the H20A and the H25A part alloy sumps are different, I was however lucky enough to find one in Sydney though. Thanks again for your help. Hi all, Found out a bit of useful info regarding the alloy upper sumps if anyone with this model (2.0 V6) is interested? I found out of Suzifour (shop/wreckers) from Sydney today that the early model grand vitara 2.5 (98 - 2001) alloy upper sumps fit the 95 - 98 2.0 vitara. I am not a mechanic and this is info that I have only been told today, but with some further research and if it works could be useful to someone (maybe even me again one day). Cheers Jamie |
