I swapped out my CMP sensor on the 01 GV 2.5L today with a new non-genuine part, marked the sensor position and transferred to the new part. At the mark or at any other position the car won't kick over now. The sensors old and new, look identical except for the dog on the new part is slightly larger, but still fits ok. I noticed the new part is a "33100-77E20" however the old one is "33100-77E10" I haven't found any useful info on the parts, has anyone come across this before? and I can't put my old sensor back in as I broke it with the hammer on removal |

Any ideas on how I can get my car going again? The sensor can only go in one way, so it can't be in the wrong way. The plug is connected fully onto the sensor too. |

Faulty replacement? Think Atari went through something similar with his SV from memory with the replacement not functioning at all. Cant remember what the outcome of that was. EDIT: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=33778 was the thread |

Looking at the manual the dog is offset so your right can only go in one way.. Does the engine light flash with ignition set to on? Its possible the fuse to accessories/ECU is blown. |

Yeah manual doesn't give much info except that it is offset, the engine light wasn't flashing when ignition is turned on. I'll have a look at the fuse, haven't checked that yet. Looking at the pics of Atari's, he has the 4 main holes. I swear from memory (the part is downstairs in the car) that my original had 6 main holes.... maybe the new one is only 4 like Atari? Will have to check it. Maybe the E10/E20 is different for the 4 or 6 cylinders.. |
