I want to put an alarm system and immobiliser in my 08 Jimny. I have autowatch units on my 2 vans and am quite happy with them, and am wondering if the factory remote central locking key buttons can be used instead of a new button on the autowatch or any other available systems. Would simplify as the key is built into it. |

just get a button start kit with it. and do away with your key. so you only need to carry a FOB. there are a few kits on ebay and stuff for like $120 with alarm, new immobilizer, a couple FOB's, and push button start kit and control unit. and all you do it stick the original key in the ignition with it turned to on. so you can get the steering lock off. the rest of the barrel is re routed to the new immobilizer unit and push button controller unit. OR just put in an alarm the Jimny as it already has an immobilizer. unless you have removed it. |

I would think a key in the ignition would be an attractant for theft, so I'm not liking that idea. Found one by mongoose that does what I am looking for... http://www.mongoose.com.au/products/veh ... es-gs.aspx |

I think he meant key in ignition when you get in, not leaving it in all the time. Are you worried someone will stealing your exo? Already has immobiliser standard and these days nobody pays attention to a screaming alarm. Your money though. |

Will it immobilise when upside down. That would be inconvenient. |
