Post subject:  Driveshaft question

I have bought a LWB SJ410, but it has no driveshafts. What will fit/what are the differences between models? Will Maruti shafts fit?

Front shaft and jack shaft can be used from a swb sierra (sj410) but the rear will need to come from a lwb. Not sure on maruti, I assume they would be ok being 1 litre, but Suzuki/maruti have been known to do strange things...

You need to provide more info. There are 3 types of SJ410, with different pinion flange bolt patterns. The Type 3 is the same as a NT 1.3 Sierra or Drover and also NT Maruti. The Type 1 and 2 have a different flange pattern, the same as LJ50/80/81, but the shaft lengths are all different.

I haven't got it yet, I'm still waiting for the transport people to bring it to me.

So the NT Maruti has a shorter Jackshaft than a Type 3 SJ410?? Interesting.

I would have said maruti same jackshaft as a type 3 sierra. I thought maruti ran the type 3 gearbox.

And for my type 3 / 5 speed conversion I used a 1.3 jackshaft with a 1 litre flange on transfer case end. Length is spot on, which makes sense given that everything dimensionally about the type 3 is same as 1.3 (except Bell housing)

I thought Maruti was the same untill I worked out why my G16b conversion was hitting the firewall.
The F10 Maruti gearbox is mounted about 15 to 20mm back than a 1.3.
Moving engine and box foward to clear I noticed the difference in jack shaft position.
Probably could have risked and used it, as a fair bit of splines was still engaged
