Hi guys, Been on this forum for a while now looking at some awesome stuff that people have done to there zooks and I have to say that I am blown away with some of the work they have done! Anyway, back on track, I am looking to purchase a Jimny soon and will probably end up being a 98 - 05 model unless I find a newer one in my price range. I am trying to find out what mods would be good to put on for a beginner, I want things like a bull bar, spotties, lift, etc however things like air lockers are not that important to me to start off with. What mods, brand and price should I add to it first? Thanks Nick |

Diff breathers, recovery points, recovery kit and trail spares/fluids are a good starting point |

lift 770, muddies 300 (2nd hand) and you can do this. ![]() once i have a bar it'll be around 5k on top of what i paid for the car and its coming along nice. there a cheap toy for fun but im considering a bigger motor |

It depends on your experience in 4wheel driving. the cheapest option is to drive it stock as long as possible. I regret racing into modifications, eager to spend to get a result. what I should have done was driven the car stock and found what it can genuinely do when pushed. my lack of 4x4 experience lead me to believe modifications were necessary from the get go. I went with a ARB bulbar and 50mm old man emu lift straight up. if I were to do it again id go tyres and lift, with higher rate springs to hold a winch/bulbar combo in the future. the bulbar looks good but ultimately for me the thing i'm most likely to hit is a buffalo up here so im pretty much f#@&ed with or without it. |
