hey guys
sorry im new here and had a quick look around for some threads but couldnt find any
i got a 91 swb vitara and it goes sweet in the bush tracks but took it on the beach and it went shit, was mainly rear wheel spinning so im thinking i need to get a tigher front diff
are spartan front locker diffs any good or what is a good cheapish upgrade instead of going air lockers

you'll want to chase up a GV steel front diff if you're going to lock it, the vitara alloy ones are the achilles heel & are known to break pretty easily.

spartan/lockrite or a chinsoong air locker copy are the cheaper options, when building up the GV diff you need to remove the GV R&P & replace it with the vitara 5.12 diff ratio, this is a perfect time to be putting a locker in.

i find my front air locker to be awesome as it takes a lot of the stress out of the front end when lifting wheels etc.

Surely a front auto locker would bring teh suck in sand?

PS. Suzukis can/do/should run much lower pressures in the tyres, which will help on the beach.

I never had an issue with my vitara in sand unlocked. In fact, most of the time I only required 2WD unless I was attempting to climb dunes. What size tyres and what pressures were you running them at?

I was running 9psi in Beachport.
Usually pick 10psi, but new staun copies had thier own ideas.
