ok i just bought a 93 vitara SWB.
& i honestly dont think its ever even seen a dirt track.
interior & exterior r sweet, no rust. very minor dents.
in saying that, i dont think the front hubs have ever been moved.
the left one was ok, the right 1 was seized. so i gave it a light spray with WD40 & got some grips on to it,
i managed 2 get it to move, but it dont appear to "lock".
it feels like the only thing im turning is the locking handle itself. almost like its not connecting to anything.
i went 4 a quick drive 2 the creek & yup, no wheel spin on the front.
any ideas? can i un-doo the allen key bolts around it, take it of & have a look? or will things spring out never to be found again?

yeah pull the allen head bolts that hold it onto the hub make sure they are unlocked first, pull them down & clean them then regrease. there is a little detent ball & spring in the dial be careful when pulling it apart & watch where the ball goes. there are few circlips to get at in there as well.

Yes things will spring out so don't let go ,after that it's pretty simple clean it up and regrease it with some molly grease, but don't over grease it. you will need a gaskit or some silicon for the flange when you put it back together...
