went for a bit of a drive last night and after a bit my lights turned
into candles and every thing stopped working. all that worked
was tail lights and very dull head lights.
no indercaters, high beam, aircon uhf nothing.
motor still cranked fine, it has a new deep cycle cranking battery.

i asumed it was the fuse link, however i just went to have a look
and every thing was working fine.

any ideas on what to check or poke with a stick.

with every thing turned on things slowly stop working and lights go yellow
but the motor still cranks. even the indicators slow down and then stop working.

I had a similar problem and it turned out to be a stuffed alternator, which also stuffed the battery, replaced them and all was good.

Shep if you got the space move the battery into the back in a sealed box vented outside. Have had no battery troubles at all, it works better as its cooler and it never gets wet or muddy so it never gets weird build up or rusty terminals, that and Um running a 110 amp Falcon alternator made by Mitsubishi

i have no room in the back for a battery cos that is where the
kid and associated stuff goes  i just lucked onto a
faulty battery no problem getting a replacement. i just got
my mitsi/ford alt back from the sparkies but it is probably gunna
sit in the parts cupboard for a while. i want to buy Sikids G16 so
will prob stick it on that.
