Have you seen one of the new Jimny's up close, we had a new one come on PL trip, just 1 week after leaving the showroom floor, hehe... it went very well offroad for a stocker... and i think the bonnet scoop makes them look a bit tougher... i like it !

i saw them a few months after i bought my brand new december 2011 plated model, i was furious, i thought with the scoop it must be a diesel. but it wasnt. i like the look of them. would be better if the scoop was functional, and not plugged up with plastic.

I think the bonnet scoop is a vain attempt by suzuki to make the jimny look less gay. The real question now is, did it work? If the scoop was open and served a practical function, then i would say it is a step in the right direction, however, as it is closed and is purely cosmetic, it makes it a gay poser similar to the wrangler. At least before the scoop the jimny was a practical butch dyke, but now it is starting to worry about its looks, it makes it less butch and more dainty like a well adjusted gay man. Went over to see what the guys at top gear had to say about it in their new jimny review: http://www.topgear.co.za/news/suzukis-jimny-4x4-get-scooped/Opening statement: Quote: Many people don’t get Suzuki’s Jimny.
In Europe it’s seen as the folly of rental agencies. Or the hopelessly camp.
But, in South Africa, where most people have aids from gayness and 4x4s are actually used for their intended broken terrain navigating purpose, the Jimny’s rather well regarded. There you have it. The new cosmetic scoop, 2 thumbs down.

I actually first saw the bonnet scoop in new Zealand at a Suzuki dealership, and thought maybe nz got a supercharged version with a top mount intercooler. I figured surely it wasn't a fake scoop and had some use, being own and all. Oh how I was wrong:s

ive looked into making the scoop on mine usefull and the only hurdle is the electrics ontop of the motor. I believe that rather than make different bonnets for different motor configurations they just gave everyone the diesel bonnet to save costs on multiple parts and the like. but i agree the plugged scoop is just asking for a gay lover. ill make mine useful one day.

Why was your first thought supercharged? Haha. I'd think 660 turbo or a diesel first.

^^ LOL
I was wondering if the Stoned Pirate would make a return one day.
I've been doing a bit of research lately regarding Defender 90s, Puma doesn't sound good. TATA owning LR can't be a good thing either.
