Hey I have a 1989 Suzuki sierra and it won't find 5th or reverse. It's like 5th and reverse don't exist anymore. The gear shifter won't move across that far. All other gears work perfect. Is it time for a new gear box or is this a common problem? Any help would be hugely helpful. I'm going to check tomorrow if one of the linkages is locked up. |

Is the G/box bush in good condition? |

Watuwant wrote: I think it looks ok to me Did you pull the shifter out of the box? At the base of the shifter is a bush that commonly disintegrates. The other issue is the locator bolt, in the neck of the shifter housing, that breaks. |

You've got to get it right out to see anything. |
