When you come to Ripley for a wheel you'll just have to have a look at ours. Tanshi, Highway star, Mick and I have all done it. We've all mounted them differently and they all work. Most (well mine at least) uses stock stockman shafts, just a 25mm spacer on the front, but my front end is 21mm forward. They're all rotated to vertical or close to with various artistic bends to bring the stick out the top, though Tanshi went twin stick. The tunnel needs to be raised as well. For that red thing you wouldn't even rotate it since it has offset diffs anyway. |

But I do run the ring, it's part of the mount and it's tied into the 2 original 4 bolt mountings. I used spring bushes for rubbers as that's what I had laying around. I thought I had piccies but can't find em and to be honest, can't be bothered looking any more. If you come down you can look then, not much to see anyhow. Not like it was brain surgery. |

in its twoish years its done 4 trips down to beaudesert at 80ish km/h and back. and maybe 10 trips to ripley and back at 60 then lots of slow speed tracks and hard wheeling. i guess its maybe done 1500-2000kms total. not exactly a race car. |

The 6.5s seem to draw up plenty of oil. Must admit, I was sceptical before I did mine but mine gets driven plenty and never a problem. Though speed isn't really a factor. |

How many tcases did you break in the last 12years? What was actually breaking on them? What you seem to have set up in the pic is a nicely soft rubber mounted gbox (and also assuming engine) to a stiffer mounted tcase with a solid input drive connection between gbox and tcase. Looks like it will put alot of extra stress on the gbox output shaft/housing/bearing as well as the tcase input shaft/housing/bearing. |

Reading this sort of thing over and over again is pretty boring. If you're happy with what your car can do that's great, but ultimately it's just an LJ with whacky shackles and WT diffs, It's not revolutionary. I'm sure you're familiar with it and a committed driver, and that counts for a lot, but claiming that nobody can keep up with this car/nobody will follow you etc just means you haven't found the right guys to drive with yet. I can go on a medium trip, drive all the hard lines, and sit back and congratulate myself on what an awesome car I have, but every now and then I get outdriven by someone with less car than me and that's great, and just because nobody can follow you doesn't excuse hacky fabrication, whacky shackles, or 5K motors. Mine got driven to parks at 90km/h to 100km/h for a while, and loaded with rubbish. I even drove it to work for quite some time. Take it to the shops just for fun etc. Been in the car under 12 months admittedly but would have done 5000ish km's. Also with the 5.12 diffs and 31" tyres I have, the transfer is doing a truckload of speed. As I see it the gears themselves supply the oil, and the gears are still in there oiling themselves. Sierra transfers do not have an oil pump or even oil channels. Anyway, Hillbilly isn't running it clocked, he has Sierra diffs, hence the main reason for putting the TC in for him is to get rid of his ridiculous tail-shaft angles. |

I'm not sure how much speed you mean but I ran mine upright for six years and often saw 110 kmh for hours on the highway then offroad for days in the high country then back on the highway for another five hours at 110kmh. I'm still using the same one we just moved it for the wt diffs. |
