Just getting a couple of fuel fittings from Pirtek before the GTI engine goes in.

Measuring up how much EFI fuel line I'll need to swap over, I realised I haven't figured out where I'm going to mount the fuel pump.
Anyone got photos of how they've mounted theirs for the conversion? I tried measuring it up to mount on the chassis but the bracket goes completely around the chassis. Was thinking of U-bolts but that'd look ugly.

It's a Bosch 984 if anyone's wondering...

I bolted a surge tank and efi pump to the floor and hung the lift pump off a bracket that is bolted to the handbrake cable mount. Lift pump is level with the bottom of he fuel tank.

It was terrible to drive without the surge tank

Yours a coily? If so why not mount an in tank pump?

This is the bracket and where I mounted mine

I've had no issues with mine until the tank has only 5L left in it. Then you surging around corners etc. Saying that it will suck down 39L out of a 41L tank on long highway runs!

Mines an early 96 Sierra, last of the leafys, I like yours shep, even just found the same surge tank on eBay for $110+$18 shipping

What model pump did you use for the lift pump?

Edit: I wasn't actually thinking of doing the whole surge tank set up, since some people reported the single fuel pump alone was good enough. But if i'm going to be getting surging around corners, and considering my zook is my daily until I buy another car I guess it's worth the extra $130 or so setting it up properly...

Does this set up look alright?

Lift pump takes it from the tank, to the surge tank, feeds to main fuel pump, feeds to fuel filter, feeds to engine.

I have a filter just before the fuel rail and a filter between the fuel tank and the lift pump
