Got all of the head back on and started fine thank fuck. But we need to know ignition timing degrees before TDC please. Quick response would be awesome so I can get it going tonight to be able to drive to work tomorrow.

Mine is 10 deg btdc at idle. Dunno if that is right but it doesn't seem to detonate

Alright cheers mate! Now we have to find the timing light -.- lost it in the shed somewhere or lent it to someone who hasn't returned it...

Now tht I think about it, I know nothing about my dizzy. For all I know it could be from a datto 120y so it might pay to do some googling a my advance curve might be very different to a stock GTI.

yeah, dont quot me on that but i dont think thats a mk1 gti one... i could be wrong tho..

Factory spec is 6 degrees +/- 1* bdtc @ 850rpm

Sweet! Chears for thr help.
Head machined and 2 valves fixed. New vrs kit, spark plugs, oil and filter. So touch wood its goes good for a long time!! Haha
