You sold a 10yo well modified 4wd that could tow a trailer for one 50% older that cant, and you want to build your new / old 4wd to be able to tow what your old one could - but you dont want to spend too much money doing it? Is that correct?

I'll leave the grammar alone. I have done the machining required for a front locker, but to do it again I would charge a lot, and because of Atari the extra cardboard costs are also pretty high. I think you need to do some more research. You have purchased, I think, the wrong model Sierra (or zook in general) to start with. Your budget is also low. Carrying extra weight in a Sierra is one thing, adding a trailer is another. Keep forced induction out of the equation if you want a reliable vehicle.

I`m looking at doing a engine conversion to help cope with the weight ill be carrying including a trailer,
the problem is i dont want to spend a fortune or put anything in too powerful that i starts breaking stuff , plans are 2"body 2" suspension 31`s twin locked low range gears n wide track transfer case and reduction gears , calmini roof rack, custom winch bar and custom rear swing away carrier , inside im keeping pretty much factory except for a waeco / cb and a large alpine sterio / ipad navagation .

There`s a couple of forced induction suzuki`s here in tas that are reliable , there is alot of smart arses on here yeah .3000 is my engine conversion budget, i`m looking at throwing at least 10 grand at this project , making things fit is my job or was mate im a fitter machinist by trade

Where abouts are you in Tassie? What sort of touring do you expect to do with this setup?
Is it purely "touring" towing a camper trailer? Play toy? Daily?

Hi ace ,Have u ever driven a highly modified hilux ? Mine was built as a toy basically a rego`d comp truck not anything that could be driven any long distance it was heavy on juice, hard for my missus to drive and was way to high to tow a trailer without a ridiculas hitch, i also recently lost my job so most of the toys had to go , so with the left over cash i bought the sj from my brother cheap 1000 bux .
