nah not for me, there is a track bar thread on here somewhere & i've seen a few RTV's on the road & noticed the setup that they run & mentioned it in the thread. since i mentioned it, i've never been able to find one parked so i could take some spy shots of them. would appreciate the pics if you get a chance & good luck with the sale. |

This is the rear track bar off a ford gus if its what you were after. Yes it is on a commodor, yes it is coil sprung but from what i know of the car i think that its off a leafy ford. ![]() There was orginally only 1 track bar but it was pushing the car sideways out of corners to much, with this setup the corner exit speed can be kept faster and no where near as much drift. Dave sorry for the hijack! g/l with the sale mate |

the yankies call a panhard rod a track bar some times, but that's definately a watts linkage set up (same design was used on the old V8 supercars) the ones on the RTV are to stop axle tramp & run from the chassis near the front leaf hanger to the axle. |

Even the crappy shitbox limo had a watts link, I think all the shitty coil falcons use them. |

yeah the coon carriers have had watts linkages for years, the good thing about them is you don't get the lateral movement on compression like you do with a panhard rod set up & thanks for splitting this out of the forsale thread. |

Isnt that generally refered to as a "Traction bar"? Essentailly to stop the leaf spring from turning into an "S" and then springing back into a straight spring again causing the lovely axel tramp type effects. like this http://image.off-roadweb.com/f/8279936/ ... on_Bar.jpg |

atari4x4 wrote: yeah track bar/traction bar/anti wrap bar = same thing. Nope! Track bar is to stop lateral movement. Traction and anti-wrap to stop the springs loading/unloading. Not the same thing ![]() Post up the RTV setup already! |

thanks Jas ![]() all i saw was the front spring hanger assembly, that gives me a better idea of what was going on. NFI if that style of traction bar would work in the back of a sierra though, is there enough "outboarding" of the rear springs in a WT to be able to run that sort of set up & clear the chassis rails? |

Wonder how much that setup would bind under flex? |

JrZook wrote: Wonder how much that setup would bind under flex? The closer the traction bar is to the spring the less negative effect it will have on flex (droop), however this comes at the cost of reduced ability to control axle wrap... Everything on a car is a compromise. |
