Vitara wont like that lift too much without geometry remedies such as in the calmini 3" kit. |

personally after seeing a few people fit that outdoor auto *cough* "kit" on here & have drama's you'd be better off with going a 2" dobinson lift & a 2" body lift for similar money. the other option would be to pony up for the calmini kit, buy some camber bolts & be prepared to replace the struts & shocks down the track. |

thanks for the help guys, where can i find the calmini kit and how much? was thinking of doing the 2 inch lift and 2 inch body but didn't want to have to do the body lift for the stuffing around bits like the gear stick hitting etc as i went thru that with my sierra. what sort of dramas are we taking bout with the 3 inch lift? cheers scott |

www.lowrangeoffroad.com or direct from calmini, they advertise in the business directory on here. get them to split the invoice to avoid being touched up by customs/import taxes etc. the struts & shocks supplied with the calmini kit aren't much chop, i'd look at getting a pair of dobinson struts for the front & some commodore rears in the bum. there is a thread in good tech that has a heap of info on sizes etc. grab some camber bolts for the front to be able to dial the camber back in & some DIY bumpstop extensions front & back to stop the coils from binding. (bumpstop thread thread in good tech) a few people complain about it being too soft in the rear, i find mine works well even when loaded up & with the camper trailer on. it's a "bolt" on kit with the 1.6l vitara's it's only the 2.0l vitara that needs the front diff drop brackets modified. |

cheers atari, i think ill go with 2 inch for less hassles, only want to run 30 inch tyers and have something that will flex alright. have you just got a 2 inch lift in yours atari? also is it alright to remove the front sway bar for better flex on the vitara? cheers scott |

mine is running the calmini kit with 2.5" front springs & the 3" rears + a 2" bodylift.... with some inner guard work & bumpstops you might get away with 2" + a small spacer & 30's depending if you run a mild offset as the bigger offset will want to scrub more. i've never run a swaybar on either of my vitara's EDIT: have a look at charlie's build viewtopic.php?f=4&t=32984 there are heaps of other's but i'm brain dead at the moment. |

Suspension won't let you fit bigger tyres. It may give you more droop but the compression will still be the same. Guard chop and bumpstops will. Most springs are for a 40mm lift. I ran 235/75/15s on my old vit with ome springs and struts and commodore rear shocks and needed a 20mm spacer to stop they tyre hitting the top of the rear guard. |

I'm running 235/75 ATRs ATM and don't have any scribing issues besides the front tuching the chassis on full lock, so some off set rims should fix that. If I have to much Tyer scrub later on ill just chuck a body lift in but suspention wise I want something that will flex better and give me a bit more ground clearance that's all |
