Hi all just a quik one if u were to in a 94 lwb vit do an engine conversion would you need to retain the factory ecu for any other functions that aren't engine related or will the bcm take care of all that? |

Vitaras don't have a bcm, just fuses and wires. The ecu only runs the engine. Steve. |

If its an auto then the ECU also controls torque converter lock up. |

I was thinking that a 94 would have a 3-speed auto without a TCM but there were some JDM Vits with a 4-speed around that time, if its one of those then thats a lot more complex, there a a few threads about that that have the info. |

AFAIK, all LWB vitaras were AW4 driven in Australia. And All SWB EFI models were too IIRC. |

Rhinoman, we never received vitaras here with the TH180C gearbox. Our three speed vitaras are all hydraulic, no converter lock. AFAIK, the TH180C cars were all tbi injected, not carby. |
