Hey fellas, Im getting a noise and vibration when driving straight or turning right.. When I turn left it goes away???? Was thinking a weight came off the rim, but ill find out when i put my muddies on this arvo. Anyone have any ideas of what it could be? It feels and sounds like its coming from the front but dad reckons its from the back. Cheers |

exact same noise with teh exact same conditions, was the inner race of the front left wheel bearing |

When you go around a corner, left, the left wheels get less weight, and the right wheels get more weight. so the noise changes. hard to know exactly what side is what, but best to do them both at the same time. I have the exact same thing, turns out to be my rear right wheel bearing. When i go around right corners it shuts up. I have just purchsaed both wheel bearing kits (L and R) from "4wd_products" on ebay, was $69 for the bearings, axel seals and some spacer thing. Bursons wanted $110 for the bearing kits. I have to remove the axels and press the old bearings off, and the new bearings on. I have a small supercheap auto press, im not sure i will be able to press them off myself (press might be too short). might end up just taking them to the mechanic to do them. (ie i will remove the axels and take them to him) If you are going to pay someone to do the whole lot, i would budget $300-400. |
