| Post subject: | ABS GV? |
Stupid question I know, but apart from the ABS light up on the dash, is there anyway to check if my new vehicle is ABS equipped? BTW - I do not have the dash ABS light so am assuming that it is not ABS equipped - the but bloke from GlobalAuto said "don't assume!" I need new from bearings and as they are a special order part, if I get the wrong ones I cannot take them back for a refund or credit. My rear bearings were non-ABS, so this is another reason why I 'assumed' it would not be ABS-equipped. Thanks for helping out a noob!! |

Follow the lines coming out of the maser cylinder, if they go into a rather large box, that has electric wires going into it, and more brake lines coming out of it, then its ABS. If the lines come out of the masercylidner, and go straight to the wheels, no ABS. Or find some dirt and hit the skids. You'll know if you have abs pretty quick. |

here ya go, This is american, and i dunno if same car as yours. (just googled GV vitara engine bay) http://i912.photobucket.com/albums/ac32 ... 903-00.jpg But right below the windscreen wiper motor on the far right hand side of the engine bay, you can see the white box, with the gold round thing on it, and those ~4 pipes going into the top Thats the ABS module. Responsible for 'pulsing' the brakes when it detects some slippage. |
