Just wondering how much work/ what needs to be changed to put g16b into carby swb vit with g16a in it and is it really worth it ? Thanks

You'd need entire wiring loom, computer/s, fuel tank with pump, and the fuel lines from an efi Vitara to fit it.
I personally would buy an efi Vit instead, and transfer your good stuff to it.
I have not done the conversion, opinion is based roughly on info gleaned from Auszookers topics.

i'd swap your good bits onto it... how mechanically minded are you?

would suck to get half way through & end up with 2 wrecks due to lack of motivation/skill.

G16A and G16B chassis are different which will lead to a bit of crossmember work to get it all together, along with wiring loom, fuel tank etc. By no means at all is this an impossible swap, but it's one of those swaps that is very hard to justify - it's like putting a V8 in a 6 cylinder commodore - sure, if can be done, but why convert something when the factory already made it?

Well I have a Swb and they are pretty much all carby and don't really want a Lwb but if crossmember and other things need mods I'd say it would be good to give it a miss. What performance mods can I do to g16a ? It currently has the head off it so any good head work I can do to get a bit of power?

No, SWB's aren't all pretty much carby - They were carby for the first 5 years and EFI for the next 5.

You can play with carbs etc on the G16A but it's all a trade off. I don't like the G16A at all.

LWB's are pretty awesome - they climb grouse and are just incredibly cheap now.
