Post subject:  Vitara Leans To Drivers Side

Hi all, My 89 Vitara leans to the drivers side when parked on flat ground, I have replaced all 4 springs and shocks with new ones and still it leans to the right, I also cracked the front and rear control arm bolts while the car was on the hoist and retightened them up, it all seems straight under the car, not sure what the problem could be.
My mechanic suggested packing spacers to correct the sag . Any Ideas would be greatly appreciated.

SUZUKI LEAN

I fixed mine with one spring spacer.

Did you use the correct springs and did you install them correctly? Most manufacturers supply springs in handed sets, with longer ones for the driver's side to compensate for uneven loading.

Yeah, what fordem said... try swapping the passenger side springs, with the drivers side springs, and see if that helps... :D

It was leaning to the right before I replaced the springs, I thought new springs would have corrected the lean, all springs were installed correctly. I just might have to use spacers as suggested.

My brand new calmini kit leans to the right too....I put it down to the weight of the spare tire.
Have you check tire pressures?

Dont tighten the bolts till its flat on the ground and also has it had a wheel alignment done with the camber checked
R all the rubber spring seats ok
R the coils seated on the diff and arms right

grab a tape measure and measure some corrosponding points each side. could be the body sagging on the chassis rather than anything to do with the suspension
