hey guys about to buy some reduction gears already in a transfer case and wondering how do i tell if it actually has reduction gears? spin the output shaft?
id like to know cause ive heard of people selling standard t-cases as having reduction gears in them and dont really want that to happen to me haha

:peaceout:

Well for starters, tell the seller that if you find that they are not reduction gears, you come back and beat him to death with his worthless transfer case.

Secondly, mark 12 o'clock on the input flange, and output flange, and count how many times the input flange rotates to ONE turn of the output flange. 4:1's should be 4 rotations, 4.9's should be near as doesn't matter to 5 turns etc etc.

High range will have reduction also, so the principal is still the same.

In low, 6.5 turns of the input flange to one turn of the output.

Or in high, 1.7 turns of the input flange to one turn of the output.
