Hi guys/girls i have recently broke my transfer case mount which has caused my rear tail shaft and the transfer case to sit on a nasty angle. the mount is fixed now but the joint between the transfer case and the tail shaft is spitting all the grease out !!!! :( WHAT DO I DO TO STOP IT SPITTING THE GREASE OUT??

It's not a CV boot. the rubber is inside and is bonded to the the metal. You can buy a whole new tailshaft for about $600.00, or second hand $200.00. Once the bond breaks sand etc. gets in and the CV shits its self. The wrecker I bought mine off says you can put a boot over the top but I can't see how.

It is a common problem on the Jimny, and yet another reason why the Sierra Transfer swap is a popular option because it eliminates that shat altogether (beside the gearing advantages it provides). Kits from companies such as Offroad Armory in the UK will set you back about $300 delivered. Add a second hand WT Sierra transfer for something like $100, and a front WT Sierra driveshaft to use in the rear of the Jimny for say $50 and you're well ahead of a $600 new driveshaft, with the added bonus of a 6% reduction in High Range for slightly bigger tyres. Down the track, you have the flexibility of buying even lower reduction gearsets for full-blown awesomeness!

Because it's the INTERmediate shaft, goes between the gearbox and transfer.

I had no idea these things were bonded on the shaft. I shouldve pay more attention when I did my WT mod.

Surely though you would be able to source a generic boot from somewhere and band-it-clamp it on?
